Desert Wind Dancers – Performances of Belly Dancing and Live Music

Desert Wind is a troupe of entertainers comprised of dancers and musicians that began performing in the Tulsa area in 2001. With live music, colorful costumes, extraordinary dances, and the polish of veteran performers, Desert Wind brings with them a fiery spirit that energizes and inspires. Live performance of belly dancing and music from the lands of the Mediterranean, North Africa, Middle East, and The Orient. We utilize musical instruments, including drums, flute, zills, and other ethnic percussion, and dance with props such as canes, baskets, scarves, swords, and veils, to bring a one-of-a-kind performance experience to audience members of all ages. Education is interwoven throughout our performance, including historical information, ethnic traditions, and dance techniques.

We offer classes twice a week in Tulsa, OK for beginners and experienced dancers, with the option for our students to join our performing troupe.

We specialize in Renaissance and Medieval faire performances, and we also have experience performing at a multitude of venues, including: showcases, conventions, local fairs and festivals, fundraisers, and weddings.
